If this if governing, I'll eat my hat.
At this stage, it might be more that Gormley is saving his seat by moving out of the limelight! Or maybe, in such a small party, it doesn't matter so much who does the job, and it's better for them all to get some government experience - whether in government or opposition, it's useful experience.

    Hey

Just heard the details on TV3. One wonders did Gormley and Sargent agree to leave cabinet to ensure the following:

    A) A sweetener to backbench Green TDs to keep supporting a Government that they knew would be distasteful.
    B) To guarantee that as many Green TDs would have Ministerial pensions to take the sting out of election loss.

    ?????

Thats a bit harsh digout. He managed to get a motorway through Tara, after all. That can't have been easy...

I suppose they're just sharing the ministerial pensions out between the few of them. They'll only get one chance at it after all!

Sorry, fair play to him for that. Also, building the incinerator in his own area took a lot of work.

    Thats unfair Digout.

Gormley achieved a lot in his time at the Dept of the Environment. He achieved the continuation of hare coursing. And he achieved the destruction of Tara. And he achieved an incinerator in his own backyard.

/edit/ beaten to the punchline by yehbut_nobut and digout. Damn you guys are fast!!!
