Pope officially invited to Ireland !!!

The Pope has been officially invited to visit Ireland in two years' time.

The Bishops' Conference has issued the invitation to coincide with the international Eucharistic Congress which will be held in Dublin in 2012.

Following the publication of the Murphy and Ryan reports into clerical abuse of children, campaigners have demanded an apology from Benedict XVI.

Errr,,,,, is that really a good idea from a security point of view?

    Most excellent News.

I'm sure the Holy Father will enjoy a tremendous reception here!

This is going to P off big time the usual suspects though...

The Catholics seemed to enjoy it the last time he was here, should be a good event for them.

Being in Hitler's Youth in the 1930s, we should let the Blueshirts organise all this.

I don,t think they will need to box off the Phoenix Park for this one.

A large function room in the Burlington might just about cover it.

Damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't.

Although by the time it comes around, the present incumbent may be ill or deceased (he is in his eighties now).

I doubt he will visit here. The Bishops are playing the game for the optics I think.
