He's previously indicated that his part doesn't want Tánaiste as the office has no power over policy. Tánaiste is best kept in
FF , as due to the size of thier Cabinet contingent, it effectively indicates seniority. This was a ploy Cowen used in making Coughlan, rather than Martin or Ahern Tánaiste... as having made either of them Tánaiste wouldn't have been good for his leadership (especially as he got it on a platter)
GP concessions could be for:
Ryan & Gormley to sit on more Cabinet sub-committees
A joint "morning meeting" of senior ministers to be set up
If
FF were very devious ... they'd appoint Dan Boyle as a junior minister in Finance - and give him responsibility for "regulatory reform in Financial Services"... that way Boyle couldn't use his "Outsider" position to snipe at
FF.
