O Cuiv must be in line for a chop if it comes to it. Is there anyone fresh and unconnected to any dynasties who isn't firmly attached to a parish pump?

From Gormley's sycophantic performance on the 9'o'clock news tonight, I reckon he's negotiated Tanaiste for himself. If that's the case, FF/Greens will go another 2 years and Gormley will take the Greens down with him. Unless the Greens cut him loose.

Gormley had to do that else the FF backbenchers would go nuts

He's previously indicated that his part doesn't want Tánaiste as the office has no power over policy. Tánaiste is best kept in FF , as due to the size of thier Cabinet contingent, it effectively indicates seniority. This was a ploy Cowen used in making Coughlan, rather than Martin or Ahern Tánaiste... as having made either of them Tánaiste wouldn't have been good for his leadership (especially as he got it on a platter)

    GP concessions could be for:
Ryan & Gormley to sit on more Cabinet sub-committees
A joint "morning meeting" of senior ministers to be set up

If FF were very devious ... they'd appoint Dan Boyle as a junior minister in Finance - and give him responsibility for "regulatory reform in Financial Services"... that way Boyle couldn't use his "Outsider" position to snipe at FF.

Pat Carey to be appointed to Enterprise. Hanger 6 would be sorted in 20 minutes.

"Interesting" insofar as it shows our political culture to be one of low peasant cunning, childlike tantrums, forelock tugging, servile gimpology, and the endless pursuit of status and cash over actual delivery of anything that would better the nation.
