I Just started a thread on that topic - can be merged here if mods see fit, though it's a bit of a seperate issue...

Why don`t they do the decent thing and all resign ! Call an election and let the people of Ireland who are the owners of this island decide who governs us and what type of socio / economic system we live under.

Because a GE now will result in the deletion of FF as the main political party in Ireland.

If that happens I'd give serious thought to moving to Limerick and voting for O'Dea. He would truly have done the state some service.

A reshuffle is on hold until Lenihan has to stand down.
Expect some non-entity to be promoted to replace O'Dea.

The Greens will likely keep their portfolios

Cullen , Harney and O'Cuiv must be at risk of being left out - and Coughlan at risk of demotion

Will Cowen go for full reshuffle or just fill O'Dea's spot ?
Who might the new entrant(s) be and what portfolio moves would take place ?
Also: would any ministries be abolished / merged as per McCarthy ?

    Code:
Mary Coughlan Tánaiste & Enterprise, Trade and Employment
    Brian Lenihan Finance
    Micheál Martin Foreign Affairs
    Mary Harney Health and Children
Dermot Ahern Justice, Equality and Law Reform
Brendan Smith Agriculture, Fisheries and Food
Martin Cullen Arts, Sport and Tourism
Éamon Ó Cuív Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs
    Empty Defence
    Batt O'Keeffe Education and Science
Mary Hanafin Social and Family Affairs
    Noel Dempsey Transport

Eamon Ryan Communications, Energy and Natural Resources
John Gormley the Environment, Heritage and Local Government

    cYp
Harney should go, she no longer has a mandate to be in government and she should not have supportd O'Dea.
Martin Cullen, Mary Coughlan and Éamon Ó Cuív should be dropped.
Batt O'Keeffe, Noel Dempsey and Mary Hanafin should be moved.

I would promote Dara Calleary, Peter Power and Pat Carey and do away with O'Cuiv's ministry.
