    So what were George's policies?

I noticed Pat Kenny did his old friend a favour by cutting off members of the Frontline audience who challenged George Lee to tell us what his policies were - what it was he couldn't get through - and what he was planning on doing differently.

Perhaps George might come online and let us know at some stage.

Seems more likely he just wasn't cut out for a job in politics. And that is fair enough.

Real ground breaking stuff. Lower taxes and reform the HSE. Any wonder we were all blinded by the light.

    Good point.
On the few occasions that I heard him elaborate on the topic he seemed to take the line that tackling waste in public spending would have deflationary effect.
So, if this is what he believed, then I am glad to see the back of him.
On the other hand R. Bruton seemed to be able to grasp the idea that wasting money was not a good idea especially if you were borrowing to waste and raising taxes or cutting services to pay the interest.

It seems Vincent Browne is about to ask him about his policies. I wonder if we will get anything....

George is a populist with no policies. Well so far at any rate I have heard nothing distinctive from him.
Will he surprise us? Somehow I think not.

He never wrote down any policies and presented them to the parliamentary party - it appears from his non answer to Browne.

    Browne's hammering him right now.

The more that I hear the more I think his argument that he left because he had no involvement in policy formation really really doesn't stand up.

I think he just realised after nine months that he didn't like politics or that he didn't want to sit on the opposition benches for two years or something along those lines.

At that Fine Gael still could have used him a lot better and maybe if they had he would have enjoyed it more. Made him feel important.

Why did he run for Fine Gael if he didn't agree with their policies?

He seems to be a very confused person. Got a significant ego anyway.
