    And the answer is no.
A demagogue is someone who will preach doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots.

Perhaps this is a case of stating the obvious, but it appears to me that he bottled out to some extent. To attain any real credibility it takes a lot longer than 9 months. Presumably, he would have had a fair handle on how the political system works before he decided to stand for election which makes his decision all the more puzzling.

Perhaps there more to this than meets the eye.

Perhaps George might come online and let us know at some stage.

Seems more likely he just wasn't cut out for a job in politics. And that is fair enough.

No .There isnt. It goes like this .... Party asks man to stand , promises to allow man to contribute.Man gets elected with bigger mandate than Lucinda Creighton and Leo Varadakar combined . Party ignores man , sends him on meaningless PR trips . Man gets annoyed . Man quits.

Man doesnt offer adequate explanation. Man has caused significant problems for his ex party leader. Man was offered front bench position before resignation by said party leader. Man still resigns.

Just heard him on Ray D'arcy show. His big policy difference he said was that he believed that cuts at this point in the economic cycle were wrong approach and we needed to find ways of stimulating economy.
Which is fine, bit it was never going to FG policy. And if he felt that it was an urgent message he had the opportunity to deliver it, even if it meant he would lose the party whip.

Wow. Such insight. "Find a way of simulating the economy" Well if you can't rebuild things with specifics like that what chance do you have?

I've never been convinced that it's really possible for a small country like Ireland so reliant on external business to stimulate it's own country. If we had our own currency and control of interest rates then maybe.

But tbh if this is a genius economic mind at work, and that's the extent of his insight "God sher we need to do something to expand de economy" then I'm likely to remain unconvinced.
