Well there was a 6% bounce associated with Lee:

Surge in support for Fine Gael as Coalition hits record low - The Irish Times - Fri, May 15, 2009
The surge in Fine Gael support to 38 per cent has coincided with the unveiling of the former RTÉ economics editor George Lee as the party candidate in the Dublin South byelection.

FG don't have much opportunity for positive publicity now... it is pretty quiet politically. Unless Kenny can generate some heat... he should be toast.

I think the next poll will show FF and FG tied at around 30% each

Ironically, if there is a poll done soon it could show both FF and Labour passing out FG. Now that would be a turn up from just a couple of weeks ago.

I will be watching for how Labour do - will the people give up on FG completely now?

When is the next opinion poll due?

I thought we were a Republic - not a monarchy. We had personality politics with Bertie and look where it got us in the end.

Personally I think FG will drop, but doubt that they will fall back to 2nd place so quickly. Overtime they could drop back to 25% as people may grow apathetic about their ability to lead a new government if people of percieved ability like Lee quit.

How is it that FG always shoot themselves in the foot on such a regular basis?

That politics is not about one personality. We had that with Bertie and we have 12% unemployment.
