Just as a matter of interest, how many county councillors or TD's has the last party to run on an anti-immigrant platform?

Nobody has been explicitly elected on an 'anti-immigrant' platform.

Can you name any T.D.s or councilors that have been elected on a pro-uncontrolled immigration platform?

But that's the problem right there: opposing welfare tourism, importation of poverty and support for the viability of the citizenship system here doesn't necessarily make one a rabid xenophobe. Some people can only see things in terms of pro- or anti-.

I'm certainly anti-uncontrolled immigration. The Immigrant Council of Ireland, Irish Refugee Council, Migrant Rights Centre Ireland, National Consultative Committee on Racism and Interculturalism and Residents Against Racism are definitely supportive of a completely liberal, no-barriers form of immigration policy. How many T.D.s have they elected? Sinn Féin, perhaps? The Socialist Party councilors?

Irish Refugee Council - took a look at their website, they are concerned with asylum seekers. No mention of "uncontrolled immigration.

Immigrant Council of Ireland - went through their documents, no mention there.

Migrant Rights Centre Ireland - nada.

National Consultative Committee on Racism and Interculturalism - now closed, but regardless I saw nothing proposing "no barriers" immigration.

Residents Against Racism - no again.
And - unless theres been a major change - neither are Sinn Fein.

You wouldn't happen to have any links to where they supposedly advocate these things?

Roseanna Flynn (RAR) made no secret in an interview some years back that she favours open-borders. Others who favour it are too clever to admit this for fear of damaging their cause by exposing their pretence that cases they are campaigning-on are 'special cases'.

No such links I will warrant............just every move and utterance, all of which is far more instructive than any mission statement.

You don't need to explicitly advocate open borders.

Just make the burden of proof on the asylum seeker ridiculously low. ie. the attitude of Irish times journos - we'll just take your word for it Pamela etc.

Or else argue that anyone who is here a few years has put down roots & deserves to stay.

    Same thing.

No offence, but I'd like to read it before passing judgement.

None of these organizations have this as an explicit aim on their websites, anymore than F.F. has corruption as a stated objective. Don't be so stupid. But, it's clear from words and actions that these people are this particular persuasion. Denise Charlton posts on Idiotmedia, do you need anymore proof?

    Rescind their funding, immediately.

Well, they could at least drop a hint. Until then, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks for telling me that after I was stupid enough to think you might be right about at least one of them and wasted time to go and check.......

Indeed. But at least some of them are acting for ideological reasons whereas Charlton is nothing more than a hired gun (at our expense). Last year ( was it ?) it was Women's Aid. Next year...well who knows.
