I've no update unfortunately, and not just because I don't post here any more (yes, I am a fan of irony). The present government - both parties - have shown no interest in resolving the issue. FF for blatantly obvious reasons have no intention of raking the coals, which leaves us with SF where the main driver, Martin Ferris, has relaxed his stance after the sad political demise of Frank Fahey. Our sole chance barring a media campaign is the technical group.

I will keep plugging away though.

Unfortunately there appears no desire or urgency on our former opposition parties to redress the damage done to the institute that is the Ombudsman. Mostly this is down to the inability of our incumbents to understand the importance of the Ombudsman in a functioning democracy. I would stress to add that the hand-written letter I left in Mr.Shatters letterbox was completely legitimate in dealing with the matter in hand and not some gambit to case the joint for further missions.

I hope you agree that this has nothing to do with Frank Fahey per se. It's about upholding the democratic institutes of the state, something that this government has no real interest in, I'm afraid.
