Will anyone have their collar felt?

Now that we will have a commission of enquiry, presumably running along at the same time as an enquiry by the Office of Corporate Enforcement, the Financial regulator, and plod, is there any chance that anyone will ultimately be hanging their Armani jacket on a coat hook in Mountjoy?

I very much doubt it. What will happen will be that there will be an awful lot mor Armani jackets hanging on a hook, but at Dublin Castle, and the enquiry will go on and on and on and....

Fianna Fál are corrupt. End of. And we let them carry on being corrupt. We elect the thieving, lying, traitors. Shame on us.

I will of course excuse myself however as I have never voted FF in my life. Or FG.

By the time it happens, they'll all have retired to their pads in Marbella, Switzerland and Monaco.

The commission of inquiry is not intended to be an exercise in criminal investigation

There are criminal investigations into Anglo running under the ODCE/CAB - and we can wait and see for what they find.

INBS could do with a criminal investigation - but has anyone any evidence of criminal wrongdoing by AIB/BOI ?

The Inquiry will make it less likely that someone is convicted of a criminal offence, as it creates the potential for the case against those currently being investigated to be compromised.

The Inquiry is a circus to take people's minds off their own failings.

A couple of people will serve a few months - at best.
I think FF are now out of options after this:

    http://www.politics.ie/economy/12248...oll-firms.html

It’s shocking to think that one seventh of the money we put into AIB went in March 2009 to prop up Zoe on the basis of extraordinarily fragile security. Anyone who said Zoe was being kept afloat was dismissed as a conspiracy theorist. No conspiracy theorist could have dreamt the reality exposed today.
    http://www.independent.ie/national-n...s-2020808.html

“Mr Justice Kelly said it was “fortunate” for AIB that the Zoe companies acknowledged the errors and that the intention of the legal undertakings — to hold on trust the title deeds for AIB — was to create an equitable mortgage over the portfolio of commercial and residential properties, most of which were located in Dublin.”

Pure incompetence as usual. No question that they were just trying to give it to him. No question that the government knew half a billion put in to the banks to help small businesses was actually going directly to Carroll. They had no idea what was going on in the banks in Mar 09….MARCH 09!!!!!

    A) If they knew they mislead us on the purpose of capitalising AIB
    B) If they didn’t know everything the banks did in March 2009 and approved it they are grossly incompetent

I say this every day - but surely this is the FINAL straw.

Some patsy might be pulled out of the Anglo investigation, but no one important will ever be charged.
