    Europe,
    1. No practical changes will take place if/when FG take over.
    2. No practical changes will take place if/when FG take over, it will already be in place
    3. They will continue, with a sop thrown to try and work on the improvements.
    4. They will continue.
    5. That kind of counts them all. FG will attack quangos first and harshly though.
    6. No practical changes.

The main selling point for FG (despite some genuinely talented finance and health spokespeople) is that they're not the ones who made the mistakes over the last 5 years. Yes they were egging on the govt to lower taxes, and saying that they would give more back, but they weren't the ones that pulled the trigger. But there's no philosophical differences any more, FF have been dragged slightly to the right of centre financially due to necessity, but that's just where FG were already.

    Did you forget the Stickys?

    - What "bailout"? The shareprices are still in the doldrums and the pensioners who were depending on these shares for their pensions are up the creek.

    - The Fine Gael version of NAMA would be impossible to implement in the real world, and the Sticky version was the Government version done backwards (and more expensively)

    - Revenue last year was about €35 Billion. The Public Service pay bill and Social Welfare combined was about €40 Billion (before we fix any roads, upgrade any water mains, build any schools, or pay any interest on previous borrowings). No matter who is in Government, public service pay has to reduce to a level we can afford, and Social Welfare has to reduce to a level we can afford.

    - Europe? You mean the people who are making sure we don't go bankrupt?

Is there an i missing in your name by any chance Should read spin in my opinion!

As to your last point...I would have always thought that it was the people WE elect who were supposed to keep us afloat. Not Europe.

Grow up and get the hell out of Government please.

A Fine Gael government would only rob the shirt off your back.

A Fianna Fail government would not be satisfied until it has peeled off your skin, got you to tan it for them and sold it to a Comorra controlled manufacturer of high-end footwear.

The people we elect went mad spending other people's money over the last ten years.

But, and this is important, the people of Ireland did elect them to do exactly that.

Grow up and get the hell out of Government please.
Whatever slight chance the Country has of pulling through this with the Greens in Government, without them we are absolutely f**ked!

Ok I have to agree with you on the first two points to a certain extent but if you honestly believe that the Greens are the same entity as they were when they first entered govt. you are a little deluded.

I dislike FG...come from a Labour background, and i really feel that they represent the best opportunity right now to get this place on its feet

    FF need to be told.

    The Greens need to go.
