Seems like a short time to get for MurderThe Taoiseach has confirmed that one of the men jailed for 11 years for the killing of Detective Garda Jerry McCabe in Adare, Co Limerick in 1996 is due to be released from Castelrea prison in May.
Bertie Ahern said there was no question of Michael O'Neill being given early release, but under normal prison rules he was entitled to a maximum remission of a quarter of his sentence.
He said it would mean there was no lawful reason to hold him in custody beyond 17 May.
