Cowen says 2009 most difficult year of his political life

    Happy Christmas!

TAOISEACH BRIAN Cowen has described the past 12 months as the most difficult of his political life but has insisted that the economic situation has been stabilised as a result of the measures his Government has taken.TAOISEACH BRIAN Cowen has described the past 12 months as the most difficult of his political life but has insisted that the economic situation has been stabilised as a result of the measures his Government has taken.
Thank god for this festive present. We now have a stabilised economy and a gleaming hope for a prosperous new year. Will Enda have anything to say or is FF monopolising this great recovery from the jaws of doom?

His most incompetent years were probably 2004-2009

    Seeking Sympathy from the Public.

Poor Brian. We should feel sorry for his troubles. His incompetence has destroyed the lives of many.

He needs to be kicked out at the earliest convenience and replaced with Lenihan.

His tone has gone from bullying to sympathy-seeking. He is well worse than Bertie ever was. At least Bertie didn't rub people up the wrong way.

His leadership of FF and the way he has run the FF organisation itself is another testimony to his incompetence and hectoring style. Himself and Mary Coughlan are a fine pair.

Cowen deserves everything he is getting.
Cowardice asks the question - is it safe? Expediency asks the question - is it politic?
Vanity asks the question - is it popular? But Conscience asks the question - is it right?
And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular;but one must take it simply because it is right. -MLK

Lenihan made SCAMA, and doubled the national debt in 18 months, Lenihan should follow Cowen out the exit.

Lenihan has absolutey no chance of becoming leader of Fianna Fail , ever , ever, ever.

Fianna Fail are the best most politically astute populist party machine in Western Europe. Do you honestly think they can ever elect a politican who cut welfare rates and wages and presided over the largest wealth transfer in the world to leader of their party ?

He is a lame, dead duck, immoral and unjust man whose legacy will be one of bitter division. He will retain some status amongst those who agree with his socially divisive policies similar to Thatcher but in general he will end up being as lampooned and ridiculed as his father before him.

At least the plunging of widows, the disabled and the unemployed into further poverty wasn't too difficult for him. I mean, these people can't really fight back against his government - and he knows it. It defies logical that reducing a widow's pension helps stabilise the Government's finances!
