    Airtricity on Morning Ireland

Eddie O'Connor was on Morning Ireland yesterday morning speaking about the hostile environment in Ireland for renewable energy companies.

It struck me that there must be some basis to his remarks. I have heard anecdotal evidence of the difficulties in getting planning permission for BioDiesel Plants and other renewable projects (including re-use of human waste ).

If the government is so pro-green then why haven't entrepreneurs moved in to take advantage of this opportunity? Why don't we have wave and wind power? Why don't we have widespread access to BioDiesel?

    The interview is here:

Noel Dempsey's half-assed response was on the show this morning:

BTW the comment about EirGrid in the first programme is slightly misleading.

Well, I will attempt to address that from what I can decipher of your message.

They are indeed businessmen. Businessmen seek to make profit. Ireland is a vastly underserved market, so there should be huge profits here.

We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when creating them

They've been trying to pass themselves off as best friends of the environment for the past few weeks. We might even see Bertie kissing a sapling on the front of the Indo soon.
