Dan Boyle: Susan Boyle sacrificed for ratings

    By Eoin English

    Wednesday, June 03, 2009

SINGING sensation Susan Boyle was sacrificed for TV ratings, her second cousin, Senator Dan Boyle said yesterday.

The Green Party secretary, who bore the brunt of barbed comments from judges in an Irish TV charity talent show, said he can understand why the Britain’s Got Talent runner-up needs time to recover.

"She is in a very uncomfortable place at the moment and it’s completely understandable that exhaustion would follow. I experienced something similar myself," he said.

Senator Boyle was a member of The Politicians, a band which featured in the Celebrity You’re A Star series two years ago and was subjected to personal criticism by judges Louis Walsh and Brendan O’Connor.

"This was a show for charity and we went into it with a certain amount of tongue in cheek," he said.

Hard to believe that this isn't from "The Onion".
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

It must be a slow week for news, if this is what passes as 'Current Affairs'.

Is that the name of a Labour party publication?
"Irish citizens . . . on ratification of the Treaty could be forced to become Euro soldiers." Sinn Féin claim on Maastricht in 'Democracy or Dependency' p.6. in 1992.

    Now, now.

What the hell does this mean:

"She is in a very uncomfortable place at the moment and it’s completely understandable that exhaustion would follow. I experienced something similar myself," he said.
Was Dan Boyle a Youtube sensation and massive in America? Or maybe he's referring to the exhaustion he experiences after parliamentary party meetings with Paul "Mad Dog" Gogarty.

Des O'Malley is a second cousin or something of Dido, the posh English singer. Anybody know of any other political family fortunes?
