Well he won't be pushed as noone in the cabinet can point the finger. They're a sorry bunch.

    It is perjury.

If true, this is very serious for O'Dea (quite apart from any potential legal issues). For example, the 2009 Fines Bill contained a clause allowing people to make a sworn statement as to there means. How can this be credibly enforced if a government minister is caught lying under oath and gets away with saying he made a mistake?

There have also been suggestions that some NAMA transactions should take place under oath to ensure the honesty of the participants.

Yeah, and a very serious one too. If you knowingly give false information under oath (a sworn affidavit falls under this category) that's perjury.

In this country people go to prison for perjury, as it's seen to be an attack on the system. Whether the big fish go is a different story. They do in England. Remember these guys:

Willie should be crucified and forced into resigning/suspending his seat until the Courts clear up this very serious matter.

FG/Lab should get up on their high horses quick, preach the word of ethics in politics and kick apart mighty mouse's first preference votes.

Has O Dea made any comment on the matter.

If it was any of us then we would be brought in for perjury
