I think US, UK, India, Australia and Eastern Europe will be the dominant geo-political alliance of 21st Century, all democracies that are strongly pro-democracy.
OK, I get it. Democracies like France and Germany aren't real democracies cos they don't support pre-emptive wars.

They are real democracies, however they are not strongly pro-democracy because they don't attempt to spread democracy around the world.

Of course they are democracies but Germany still doesnt really do foreign policy and France usually only acts in regards its former colonies, they both have enough on their plate in Europe and cant be relied not to sell out to China.

Georgia - Caspian Oil & Gas

Ukraine - Caspian Oil & Gas

Kyrgyzstan - Caspian Oil & Gas
Im sure you have something irresistable to warrant this?

You're the one using the word cynical.
    I'll take that as a .... yes?

Since Kyrgyzstan lies several hundred miles to the east of the Caspian Sea, I'm not sure how you worked that one out.

And what's so funny 'bout peace, love, understanding and the Lebanon?

By your logic, the support for the peace process was obviously because of the huge gas reserves off Mayo.

Do you not think that your all trying to second guess what will be the next geopolitical bloc to measure up to the US? Its a bit hard to tell, but I reckon China or India and possibly the EU? South America and the Arab nations are unlikely. Think of these finite oil reserves they have and which you proclaim is the source of their power. When all the oils gone, only the aforementioned states will have the technology and money to develop new energies and will emerge as the winners.

According to the CIA Worldbook the following are the natural resources in the Lebannanon: limestone, iron ore, salt, water-surplus state in a water-deficit region, arable land.

Presumably, the US wants to get its hands on the water, and then when they have posioned it in the rest of the region, they will by up all the water for a few bottles of Lebannese Spring Fresh.

Alternatively the US wants to get their hands on the salt to help support the fast food industry.
