He was a dreadful Minister for Justice. It was during his chaotic administration that our refugee & asylum system broke down, and the massive influx of "asylum seekers" (sic) arrived to settle Ireland. The results of O'Donoghue's venality and incompetence willl last for countless generations.
We now see, as we had seen with B Aherne, that these people have not the slightest concern for Ireland or its people, they are gangsters and frauds.

P.White MMPC mentioned Conor Lenihan, the polymath and genius who dozed off during a radio interview. Hated? While this local TD is paid a large and undeserved salary, bemusement, amusement, contempt are more what comes to mind with him. Some of the others mentioned are just harmless idiots, an example of people who gain office through family connections and whatnot.
