Jackie Healy-Rae 'claims' he doesn't have a free travel pass - claims for train fares

    RADIO KERRY - NEWS

    06 Oct 2009
Deputy Jackie Healy Rae claims he does not have a free travel pass

South Kerry Independent TD Jackie Healy Rae claims he does not have a travel pass. This is despite the fact that Deputy Healy Rae is entitled to apply for a free pass for public transport as he is over the age of 66. According to the Department of Social Welfare, everyone aged 66 and over living permanently in Ireland, is entitled to the free travel scheme. Deputy Healy Rae travels to Dublin on average once a week while the Dáil sits, incurring a fee of up to 72 euro per return train journey. Deputy Healy Rae is then entitled to claim expenses for these journeys.
This is very slack of Deputy Healy-Rae, he could claim free travel from Kerry to Dublin each week, if he only applied for his free travel pass. Deputy Healy- Rae is now 78, he has missed out on his free travel pass for the past few years. Maybe John O' Donoghue could help him with his application for a free travel pass!

He told people, live on radio, that they should mind their own business in relation to this issue.

    Unbelievable....well...maybe not.

Not only that, but I bet that he is claiming driving mileage to Dublin, i.e. at around a Euro a mile, while he is travelling on the train, and again I bet he's lying, and is using free travel when he travels

Jackie is likely scamming the State for hundreds of Euro a week when the Dáil is sitting.. and I bet O Donoghues people will be following it up

If the Irish people have any cop on, the same as the Brits did earlier in the year, now is the time to go for the jugular regarding TD's expenses

Make every single one of them publicly account for every penny they get

Well perhaps if he were canvassing during Election time in the near future in Kerry South the Electors should tell him to mind his own business when they answer the door. Sadly we all know that would not of course happen to prevent re-election

Are you implying that Deputy Jackie Healy-Rae does have a free travel pass??

I refuse to believe that, he would never do such a thing!!

I'd say you could add another 10 years onto that!

Funny how you never see Jackie and Podge or Rodge in the same room.
