More people leaving Ireland than entering.

For the first time since 1995 more people are leaving Ireland than entering.
    On RTE's news site.
Figures are from Jan to April so I'd imagine they've increased even more since with the end of school term.
    30'000 (registered)Eastern Europeans left as well as 18'400 Irish citizens..in 4 months.
If unemployment figures drop don't forget why.

    Emigration once again.

No doubt certain posters will be along soon to condemn the mass immigration of Irish people to other countries...

It's nice to quantify what we all suspected in the first place. So, round about 12,000 per month.

Is the Free State broadcaster refering solely to the 26 Counties, or to Ireland as a whole do you know?

I understand the point you make, but please stop with the FREE STATE rubbish. And I have taken a moment to savour that you have used one lazy geographic reference to criticise another.

That said the name of the country is Ireland (Article 4 of Bunreacht na hÉireann). It is a little anachronistic, but there it is.

The name of the football team is the Republic of Ireland if that is any help.

I'm not surprised. I imagine many like me who didn't join in the obsenity of the property bubble have no desire to prop up those who squandered money and are now looking for a handout through the medium of huge tax hikes. Especially as Fianna Fail are looking to create a new bubble (aka "putting a floor on the market") in order to benefit their main funders. I'm more likely than ever to get out of here.

No, you dope, we condemn the Mass Immigration to Ireland that your Fianna Fail MIP friends have promoted.

That last bit is quite new. When I was a boy in the 1970/early 80s the team was always called Ireland. This "Republic of" rubbish came in with Charlton, I think. I never use the term.
