What is it that these people don't get??? Are they afraid to ask us out onto the streets in case we thrash the place, is this complete refusal to act in the national interest down to the upcoming Lisbon referendum??? What the fu*k is going on here???
IMHO, problem is that irish politics for long time was septic tank for losers. If you cannot do anything, join party, canvas for them, if you have rudimentary brains – you can be promoted. Main principle was “do not propose anything, listen what people will ask and try to give it to them, even if some requirements were self-excluding”
If you not successful in business, join party and try to sell state contracts/assets/positions in quangos to your friends.
It was more opportunities to make wealth outside of politics.
As result, we have stock of people, which cannot do anything useful for society except giving false promises and spend taxpayers money for their own good

    things dont look good

even in the local elections fine geal done very well and they are advocating a yes vote labour are not exactly advocating a no vote, rather that it should be carefully considered and as we all know fianna fail are advocating the yes vote. Now, FG and labour done very well in local elections recently and FF still managed to get 1 in 4 votes. So correct me if im wrong but that points to most of the the voters following their parties and therefore voting yes for lisbon? Lisbon must be a no vote. It is an absolute must that therw is real chang
