Croatian U2 fans plan solidarity gesture with Ireland

We would like to inform all those who managed to obtain a ticket and be attended by U2 concert date 10.08.2009. that during the concert, planned performance choreographed welcome as an expression of the band U2 in Croatia, in which, that it was successfully submitted, and you must participate.

Namely, the idea is to make Irish flag over the stadium so that everyone carries with him a balloon. It is that all those who are on the west panel/stand take a green balloon, those who are going to the north and south panel/stand and pitch bring the white balloon, and those who go on the east panel/stand took the orange balloon. Something before the band went out on stage fill your balloon (do not tie it) and hold in the air during the first song that will perform at the concert, at the end of this song just release your inflated balloon into the air. In this way the panels/stands take the color of Irish flags and will be achieved interesting sight of dismissal filled balloons into the air. We hope that you will participate in a planned and choreographed as to enable its successful execution. So, get your bubble now. "

May they never qualify for EU membership by arresting their perpetrators of genocide!

Iceland would have something to say about the benefits of isolationism, I'm sure.

Just as an aside Hajduk Split are fanatical Celtic fans from what I gathered when I visited. This was from talking to fans when Zagreb were the visiting team and from the amount of Celtic tops worn by the Split fans. (I swapped mine for a Hajduk top)
(Didn't manage to get a ticket for the game or manage to bunk in,though tried very hard, but the atmosphere in the town was electric)

Many Croats, especially the nationalist far right kind have attempted to forge links with Irish and Celtic fans given theirs and our Catholic afinity. They take their religon link alot more seriously than we do.

However we should think twice before getting friendly with this lot given their propensity for ultra Right Ustasa crap.

My advice would be to give them a wide berth. We dont want fascists tagging onto us.

It will be interesting to see Bono's reaction when the locals in Split do the Ustasa groove.

we can content ourselves with the fact when Bono sees such a huge irish flag and so many celtic shirsts he'll probably choke on his own vomit .
