    The Library Thing

Don't think this has been mentioned before, but all you bookworms out there might be interested in library thing.

You can upload your entire library, see what other people are reading, see who else is reading your books, form groups, chat, and do all those other web2.0 things that folk do.

I have to warn you though, once you get started it is strangely addictive.

Just the thing for saddoes like me!

The "search" function does not seem to be working at the moment, unfortunately.

Does the site tend to be buggy?

haven't noticed any bugs myself, but I haven't used the search function yet

    DO IT!!

I've mostly given up buying books. I have a whole pile of books that I dip into but I hardly ever read one cover to cover anymore.
There are some books I have that I would, in theory, love to really get to grips with but haven't yet, and probably won't ever
Reading novels seems especially hard to justify.
    Yet I waste hours here

So true. I have so many books I simply haven't had time to read. Nonetheless, if I see something interesting at the right price, I'm still overcome with a sort of, "I should buy that - I'll read it eventually, and it will look good on the shelf some day when I own a house" type thought...

yep, I get that too. That overwhelming desire to go into a bookshop and pick up something new, even if there's a small mountain of unread (or half read) books waiting for me at home

Another great Internet time-waster! How did people waste time before the Internet came along?

Anyway, I've joined and have started to add some books. Are you allowed to include books you've loaned to other people and don't ever expect to see again?
