I hate Conservatives. But I REALLY f**king hate Liberals

    And I think Ian O'Doherty is a smug boll0x.

But nail, head on here IMO..

Basic point is, that left wing liberals are more intolerant than anybody. The hypocracy is staggering. As long as you are from some perceived minority, you can do what you effing want, but try and critisize that liberal 'orthodoxy' and you are cast as a demonic right wing nutjob..
Kinda reminds ya of a forum we all know and love dunnit?

It's been irrevocably proven that there is nothing more intolerant than a liberal - Ian O'Doherty, Columnists - Independent.ie

I actually don't regard the type of people Ian O'Doherty is talking about as liberals at all.

Liberalism is tolerance personified. The only things not tolerated by liberals is intolerance or anything that will cause harm to others.

These people are in effect conservatives albeit with alternative specific views to mainstream conservatives. They are not liberals, merely alternative conservatives seeking to impose their views upon others.

You are totally correct in your analysis in my opinion. The basis tenent of liberalism is all is allowed except that which injures others.

    yeah.

i think hes going on more about PC .

in its own way its the most biggoted racist tosh the republics ever been subjected to. i think its the fault of a media that needs to catagorise everyone, otherwise it cant make a buck.

just listen in to the radio to presenters who set themselves up as "liberals" and then come out with the most amazing ignorant shyte.

I think the word liberal has been misused lately. I would consider my self liberal as in I think everyone should be allowed to believe what they wish as long as they don't force their beliefs on others and behave as they wish as long as it doesn't impact negatively on others. and I don't mean that they offend the sensibilities of some politically correct, rent a cause idiot who takes offence on the behalf of others. I would agree with Munion on this one.

You are mainly right, but it does not matter. They consider themselves Liberals. Other Liberals consider them liberal, and they support the liberal orthodoxy. They cannot see the fact that their intolerance of 'conservative' or supposedly right wing views is in itself intolerant. Its laughable really.

It also reminds me of Union supporters on this website - its like if the Union thinks it and says it, it must be right, Jack O'Connor, as a lefty, is a great man for liberally labelling anyone who does not agree with the Union view of economic orthodoxy as a right wing economist and meeja..

Sometimes Jack, we are just not willing to believe your brand of economic suicide.

If Jack says it it must be left. any other opinion is part of the r-r-r-right wing agenda. apparently people like myself who work in a non-unionised multinational are rabid rightwingers.

Doesn't mean thats what they are

    Other Liberals consider them liberal
    As do you apparently

, and they support the liberal orthodoxy.
If you agree that the poster is mainly right then why are you reinforcing the misguided use of the word "Liberal" by using it in the same context as the people you claim to be ridiculous

That's Lord O'Connor of SIPTU to you, you pleb!

I find it hard to stomach the things he expells from his mouth defending "de wurkers" when he sits high in his ivory tower earning several multiples of my own modest salary.
