Browsing for something to do over the long weekend, Kinnitty castle popped into my head after hearing from friends about spending boozey entertaining nights there. I looked up it's site only to meet with a You Tube protest video.

The story passed me by at the time, though the video was posted at the start of December last. It says that the owners are sueing the receivers or some such. I take it that the protest group or the owners have control of the website. Is the Castle itself still open? Any updates?
Failing that , can any one suggest a good hotel - hour and a half radius from Baile Átha Cliath that doesn't involve flights or boats?
All sensible suggestions welcome...and of course drunken ones too for those that are presently enjoying a boozey entertaining night there
