Silly season from the Iona people again. The only thing I want to see from those people is evidence that Christianity is true. Failing that, I'm not interested.

There is also an implied claim that God helps people heal quicker as well Cool! Let's see him grow back the limbs of a faithful amputee. No?! Oh well, I guess that must be BS too.

Do you not know? Why are implying it was rigged if you don't know anything about it? Why don't you go and find out what the questions were and then show us how they were rigged, good man.

I'm not implying it was rigged, good man. I'm stating that "Independent" research tends to produce results that supports the position of the commissioning organisation.

Question for you - do you think if there was a referendum tomorrow, in this country, 67% would vote in favour of same-sex marraige?

David Quinn never seems to ever look happy, anyway. The occasional time he smiles, I'm reminded of O'Connell's joke about Peel.

    Which one would that be?

Even Jonathan Haidt, himself an extreme leftist, has admitted conservatives and the religious are happier.
What makes you think he's an extreme leftist?

Was it 67%? I thought it was less. Even if the poll was right, you wouldn't get a 67% result in a referendum if the research is not "weighted" for the group who tend to vote: Older people tend to vote in greater percentages than younger and, as the percentage of support for a "Yes" decreases with age, then, of course, there would be a large swing back to "No".

Other than that, unless you can show otherwise, we have to look to the polls and (assuming a margin of error) accept them, unless we find flaws in methodology of the that poll. If there was a referendum, obviously the effectiveness of each campaign would come into play. I think, based on polls showing increasing support, it would pass, but it would probably be very close.

Don't worry, he's just playing the victim card. These guys want to play the "90%-Catholic-country-let's-go-back-to-our-Christian-roots" and the harassed minority card at the same time.

It's not prejudiced to point out that this "research" hardly merits the title.

McDonalds are bringing out a report tomorrow that claims people who eat hamburgers are happier than vegetarians.

I've certainly been happier in the decades since I ditched religion than before - and I've more money in my pocket.

Personally I am ecstatic to read that the rapture and second coming is almost upon us!
