Soccer Pitch ploughed during night on instrutions of GAA Club

meri for ********************s sake, Soccer in ireland has always been inclusive right back to my own schoolboy playing days where one of the few places you saw black people In Ireland was on the football pitch.

Once again the difference between football and GAA are highlioghted. An nasty incident occurs at a soccer game - the club is banned. A GAA Club destroys a 20 year old soccer pitch and they are congratulated.

Can you please comment on / criticise / justify the Kerry GAA ripping up a pitch that has been used for 20 years by a football team, at night, in order to build a car park. And on direct instruction from Croke Park.

did he get endless mileage out of the incident or out of the official response from the GAA? One off incidents pass and don't generally reflect the tone of a team/sport/governing body, but the manner in which it is dealt with perseveres and does reflect an attitude.

At least they didn't spread broken glass over it, which is what the GAA in Kerry used to do to football pitches.

This dovetails into the Tallaght/Lusk debate nicely. The GAA is applying political pressure and using the courts to be 'included' in football facilities.
