Prosecute and turn in these vandals RIGHT NOW. And give them a bit of *treatment* from the local cops. That might sort out a lot of problems if you know what I mean. Poor little kids can't even play games now on that park

Not true. The government paid more for the re-development of the Lansdowne Road rugby stadium.

"2: The GAA lobbyied the government to be included in the LR project (and Tallaght, Abbotstown, Lusk etc). Sounds like the GAA "interfering in the internal affairs" of the IRFU and FAI to me."

The GAA retaliated for the government putting pressure on it to allow rugby and soccer in Croke Park. And the government indicated that there would be fair exchange - if rugby was allowed in Croke Park, gaelic games would be allowed in Lansdowne road.

As for Tallagh, Abbotstown, Lusk - these facilities are public property and the GAA should have as much access to them as any other organisation. Public authorities have not provided municipal facilities for the exclusive use of the GAA - so why should that privilege be granted to any group. For some reason you seem to be unable to rid yourself of the notion that public property is soccer property.
For information, it's pretty well known in GAA circles that when the GAA was about to vote first on opening up Croker about 7 or 8 years ago, the necessary 2/3rds majority was there to open it to soccer and rugger. Neutral observers will tell you that the vote was called incorrectly - there was a 2/3 majority to open up Croker but the poor counters seem to have missed a few hands on the yes side. A call for a recount and/or paper ballot was refused. So the vote was lost, Croker remained closed, and the justification for the Bertie Bowl remained and tens of millions was wasted designing it. Rumours abound that there had been much communication between the GAA and Bertie Ahern the night before the vote. Perhaps an urban myth, but knowing the corruption that prevailed back then in government (and still does), nothing would be surprising.

GAA members would make eurocrats- there super-efficient at dictating and tyrannising other people. Also don't forget you also have Germans in there (the best bullies in world history). Or perhaps a middle eastern kingdom run along medieval lines would be more to your liking- where people who like any other sport bar gaelic football are stoned or burnt at the stake. Take your pick lads- you've successfully made a community and childrens sports area into muck, and spread glass around- no its time too progress to the next level (I think you'd all love the latter option, then again the first one is tempting)

"I think its time for action from the government and the populace at large, the GAA's behaviour at times is nothing more than that of a shower of punk's. "

Our internal affairs are our business, none of yours.

"Somebody needs to give this bunch such a hard kick up the a*se that they won't know what hit them- enough guff and attitude problems I say. "

Our attitudes are our own business. Please stop interfering.

"Anyways whatever can be said about hurling been a great game, GAA football is for closet h*mosexuals."

If you do not like gaelic football, stay away from it.

"Eamon De Valera should have taken a very tough stance,"

What could he have done about it? GAA supporters have votes.

"Somebody's needs to teach these punks that their attitude problem is unacceptable (and most GAA players and members have a big attitude problem)."

What are you going to do about it? What can you do about it?

P.S. Thank you for admitting that most GAA players and members have attitudes which are not to your liking.

Why have the soccer folk not reported the vandalism?

Where is your evidence for that statement?

"Neutral observers will tell you that the vote was called incorrectly - there was a 2/3 majority to open up Croker but the poor counters seem to have missed a few hands on the yes side. "

    How "neutral" were the Observers?

"A call for a recount and/or paper ballot was refused. So the vote was lost, "

    What was wrong with that?

    "Croker remained closed,"

    Hear, hear.

"and the justification for the Bertie Bowl remained and tens of millions was wasted designing it."

Not our fault. Why do you elect politicians like that?

"Rumours abound that there had been much communication between the GAA and Bertie Ahern the night before the vote."

    Smear tactics.

Members of the GAA do not dictate to others. We do not interfere in the internal affiars of other sports.

"Also don't forget you also have Germans in there (the best bullies in world history)."

Is such racism allowed on this forum?

"Take your pick lads- you've successfully made a community and childrens sports area into muck,"

If the members of the GAA club have done anything illegal, why have they not been prosecuted?

    "and spread glass around-"

Spreading glass to stop council pitches in Northern Ireland being used for GAA matches is a tactic often used by supporters of soccer.
