The picket went ahead around 100 people protested outside Austin Stack Park and from what I heard on the radio got very good support.

Mr Conway has also said GAA rules meant they could not allow other sports clubs or activities on the pitch. The opening up of Croke Park to soccer did not apply to other fields, he said, and the GAA in Castlemaine-Milltown were simply abiding by the rules
When we get an answer as to why we had 70 years of non application of Rule 44 up until last week, we might get somewhere.
Until then it remains a squalid land grab.
Thank God....keep the ground pure for Gaels playing Gaelic games..... and straight home afterwards for a decade of the rosary...

The GAA has no duty to explain its activities to you or to any other outsider.
As regards that supposed sectarianism it later transpired the abuse he inexplicably began receiving from his team mates , spectators and opponents after years of no abuse from anyone on a GAA field was a result of that individual videotaping his young girlfriend during a sexual encounter , leering into the camera and grinning and then someone posting it on the internet which went down extremely badly in the small rural community he comes from . The young girl came from a well respected family , was quite a few years younger than him and to describe them as very upset would be an understatement . Local people remian convinced to this day the video was recorded specifically for that purpose , patrticularly due to the comments that individual made at the end of it . Many also find it was no surprise this victim began playing the victim to the media as it dawned upon him this recording being made public had made him a deeply unpopular individual locally and his accusations that sectarianism was the reason for his sudden unpopulairty locally . When no such animosity had existed towards him for years previously .
The video is still available on some of the seedier corners of the internet . Most people locally knew this was the case but didnt even want to make what had happened public for obvious reasons . A northern Sunday paper got to hear about this later on and publicised it . However the individual in question denied posting it on the internet himself and claimed somebody must have stolen the recording from his possession . Id also caution against anyone searching for the video as the age of the girl in question is a bit doubtful .
