1: JC, you have proved the square root of feck all. A group of mates forming a football team is not discriminatory, its how all teams start, from the bottom rungs of the Leinster Sunday leagues to Barcelona.

2: Merri, your use of the phrase creamer is unhelpful and providing JC with something to hide behind. Just retract it and get on with it.

I have come to this conclusion also.

I completely retract my slur, and apologise unreservedly to the said individual(s).

Now, lets get back to proving that a 100% Latvian team received interest from non-Latvian's to join, and excluded them on the basis of a xenophobiuc selection policy, shall we?

    Real proof, not 'phonecalls', yes?

    Thanks.

creamer is quite a funny term though. I'm sure any creamer wouldn't take offence at being called a creamer. We've all been called worse on the football pitch. If JC wants it to be an issue, let him. He's made a complete ar5e of himself on this thread

Well, I'm delighted. The Latvians case was shaky, to say the least. I don't like foreigners playing the race card unecessarily, as was the case here.

    Education & Sanctions

Firstly, I do think it is legitimate for D-Pils to state they would go to a different league if the matter was not dealt with in proper manner. Everyone has a right to participate in football and should expect that the disciplinary processes will work.

There is a lot of debate on appropriate sanctions. One League of Ireland club has been fined this year so far for racism, while an investigation is ongoing in another case. Should a team be excluded from a league if the actions of one player cause problems? From my reading, the manager did not cooperate initially with the parties. Check out the first report in Metro Eireann.

Clearly racism is an issue and while sanctions such as five match bans and fines can be put in place, as per rule 73 in the FAI rule book, the solution is education.

The FAI is doing more than the government and other bodies in this regards. They launched the Show Racism the Red Card poster campaign this week and anyone who goes to a League of Ireland ground will see the signage around.

show racism the red card ireland

I'm keen to hear the opinions of all the frothing mouthed posters on this thread who earlier were all too quick to accuse the Ballyfermot players of being racist scum and 'creamers' and so on.
D-Pils' allegations have been found to be without foundation and Landon have been entirely cleared.
Will we now see articles in Metro Eireann criticising the Latvians for playing the race card without foundation? Will we feck.
