I absolutely agree with you about the EA and Portmarnock. Both in terms of the money spent, and the PC bullschittness of the cause.
I don't agree that a team deciding it's own membership criteria is in the same category as institutionalised discrimination by the league itself - different responsibilities apply.
I am as irritated by the hypocrisy as anyone. It is, if true, mischievous of the Latvians to play the racism card. Always remembering that racism and xenophobia are not the same thing, of course. I would prefer them to keep their powder dry for their next encounter. But I'm a Gaa man.
The longstanding membership of the league confers no concession rights on the Ballyer, and is a red herring. I don't know why you're bringing such an emotional plea into the argument.
I don't know any of the lads playing for the Ballyer. I would never use the term creamer. I doubt if many of them are from Labre Park anyway. Even fewer of them work for the Equality Authority of course.
But I live in the Ballyer, and I can easily recognise how some of it's inhabitants have, and continue to attract that epithet. It's the nature of things that everything associated with the place then gets the tag.
