Their lack of non-Latvians, their historical failure to field anyone but Latvians and their refusal to countenance allowing me to try out for them indicates that they have no interest in operating an open and diverse team selection.
Are you ready to apologise for referring to the Landon team as 'creamers' yet?

    Their lack of non-Latvians,
That does not indicate a xenophobic selection policy. If a bunch of Latvians set up a team, its going to be a latvian XI. Thats the nature of the beast.

their historical failure to field anyone but Latvians
    See point one.

and their refusal to countenance allowing me to try out for them
    Now, come off it.

indicates that they have no interest in operating an open and diverse team selection.
    It doesn't really.

We need to see evidence that they refuse to allow non-Latvians to play.

You made this assertion pre your phone call.

So you must have more evidence at the time of the statement, that you aren't sharing with us.

    We're going in circles.
You don't accept that a team entirely made up of Latvians (0.36% of the population) who have never had anyone other than Latvians on their team and who hang up when someone from a non-Latvian background asks to try out for them could be in any way acting xenophobically.
That means you don't understand the meaning of xenophobia.
Still waiting for you to apologise for describing the Ballyfermot lads as 'creamers', by the way.

All you've done here is blow smoke out of your ass since your original (unfunny, uninformative) post here.

If you want to equate a collection of individuals restricting membership of their own club, with what sensible people consider to be ''xenophobia'' in society at large, then you're even more of a amadán than we take you for already.

If they were xenophobic, they wouldn't be playing in the Leinster League, would they ? If we're using a sensible definition of xenophobia, to mean a fear/distrust of other nationalities.

What you're suggesting is akin to claiming sexism because boys don't/aren't allowed to play camogie or join the Irish Countrywoman's Association.

Or that Portmarnock shouldn't be allowed to decide on the composition of their own membership. Of course they should.

    Stop being so obtuse.

What kind of person are you that would call up that team to make that kind of point ? ? ? And record it. And come on here like somebody cares, telling us about what you're happy to do in court.

And to further look silly, you want to demand an apology on behalf of people who have nothing to do with you.

    Cop on.

If I were meri, I'd tell you to f*** off, you pompous ********************er.
    Well said that man.

The Latvian community setting up a football team is not xenophobia ffs.

Will a mod do us all a favour and put this thread out of its misery.

Tell that to the Equality Authority, who have squandered a fortune in state money suing them. Tell it to the court which has reserved judgement on the matter.
I've no problem with either Portmarnock or D-Pils choosing who they want and don't want in their clubs.
What I do have a problem with is when people who operate their own discriminatory practices then start demanding that others be thrown out of a league they have been instrumental in for years on the same basis.
    It's called hypocrisy.
In addition to being blackmail and disproportionate, of course.
It's also fascinating to see so many people here are prepared to stand up for the unproven allegations of racism levelled by the Latvians without having a bother at all when someone comes on here and describes the players from Ballyfermot as 'creamers'.

What the Latvians should do is obvious: log-on to Politics.ie

On this very site they could observe how some posters openly discriminate against those of other nationalities, yet are cute enough to dodge charges of racism by explaining how they have reasonable, objective reasons for doing so.

I'm thinking, in particular, of how some posters boast of choosing not to give business to foreign taxi drivers but fend off any suggestion of racism by straining to give objective reasons why they assume that foreigners might not be as suited to the job as someone like them.

Of course, these Latvian footballers may lack the necessary English language skills to browse the threads in question.

Thankfully, there exists a poster who is both a Russian-speaker AND has a keen interest in explaining why he doesn't give business to foreign taxi drivers in Dublin. What a coincidence!

I don't give my taxi business to non-Irish, but my reasons are not the drivel you offer. .

For the record, I give my business to irish workers because I want Irish workers to stay in Ireland, and not be forced by your lousy Fianna fail buddies to emigrate. Is that too complex for you?

    What a thick.

As to the Latvians, how about I start a whites-only soccer team? No Africans need apply. I assume that that'll be OK with the Mass Immigrationist hypocrites here. After all, according to these twits, whites have so much in common, they have a right to club together.

    Racist fool, libero.

If a bunch of whites set up a team, it's going to be a white XI. C'est la vie.

This is the kind of racist garbage clowns like meriwather come up with.

Skinner, I have been preaching for years that the Mass Immigrationists are the true racists and hate their own people, or at least certain social classes among their own people.

Certainly the concerns in relation to some posters like Meri seem to apply only to non-Irish. He's happy to denigrate Irish people from Ballyfermot, but rushes to the defence of Latvians when they make unproven allegations of racism.
    Maybe it's some sort of self-loathing, I don't know.
