    Protests at the last one

    Shell to Sea try to explain why it is not a good idea to simply give away the state's resources to Shell, Statoil etc, and are met with the customary violence

    "Don't say you weren't told!" Shell to Sea protesters tell Fianna Fáil - Indymedia Ireland

    Anti War Protesters outside the gates of Citywest are met with the customary indifference

    This time we'll have the pensioners up front between the riot squad and the petrol bomb throwing mob.

    Ah now - won't those nice fellas have it all sorted out by then.

    The long range forecast is for very cold weather towards the end of February so wear something warm.

    FF Headquarters will be providing tea and coffee to the protesters but please bring your own biscuits.

    If you intend throwing eggs or tomatoes please ensure they are Irish grown produce.
    FF will also have a stall selling eggs, tomatoes, and flour etc and we would be grateful if you could pay by cash only.

    If you need transport to City West please call our office and we will be happy to collect you on the day for a small fee of €10 return to the city centre. Once again we would prefer cash.
    Is the bus stopping at Fortunestown Lane across the road?Take a ramble down if you are attending,it is one of Saggart's many ironic charms ,hidden behind the arse of the celtpig tiger.Freshly awoken from your stroll,have a look at some of the many gorgeous mc mansions that abound.They know how to call em in Saggart.As Coldwater Lakes will testify.I believe there is many a property bargain to be had around the old village,judging buy the amount of for sale/to let signs that linger ,it would probably be advisable to avoid any impulsive purchases,going forward

    This is shocking! I am not a particular fan of the Shell to Sea campaign, but the fundamental liberties such as right of assembly (provided it is lawful) and the right to protest were clearly not respected. This emphasizes more clearly in my mind the need to protest at the forthcoming Ard Fheis. They wouldn't dare manhandle pensioners.

    "They wouldn't dare manhandle pensioners. "

    They tried (metaphorically) - and learned their lesson

    You do realise that there's no right to protest on private property and that it was unlawful? Or can I come over to your house and protest in your garden about ...... something?

    I think you'll find the interpretation section of the Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act 1994 (as amended) considers a hotel to be a public place.
    3.—In this Part, except where the context otherwise requires—
    [GA]
    "dwelling" includes a building, vehicle or vessel ordinarily used for habitation;
    [GA]
    "private place" means a place that is not a public place;
    [GA]
    "public place" includes—
    [GA]
    ( a ) any highway,
    [GA]
    ( b ) any outdoor area to which at the material time members of the public have or are permitted to have access, whether as of right or as a trespasser or otherwise, and which is used for public recreational purposes,
    [GA]
    ( c ) any cemetery or churchyard,
    [GA]
    ( d ) any premises or other place to which at the material time members of the public have or are permitted to have access, whether as of right or by express or implied permission, or whether on payment or otherwise, and

    ( e ) any train, vessel or vehicle used for the carriage of persons for reward.

    True, just as I am sure they have never met you at Westminster, Capitol Hill, Old Trafford corporate boxes, the Bahamas or Aristotle Onassis yacht!
