You being a miserable little sh!t does not justify a legislative crusade against people going out and having fun.

Can any NUI Galway Labour Youth heads tell me the result of the motion or show me the minutes?

There should only be one kind of license and anybody with a suitable premises and a clean record should be entitled to get one, subject to normal planning.

Closing time should be a matter for the owner to decide and if he wants to run it as a night club good luck to him. Or a wine bar, a cafe bar, a sports bar or a honky-tonk. It would lead to more and generally smaller specialist pubs. Drink would be cheaper because scarcity of licences wouldn't drive up the price of the property in the first place.

If we must have hard times let us at least have a reasonable social life.

The gob********************es in Government and mickey mouse lobbyjobs still don't get it.When you let everyone out the door at the same time fueled up ,it a human bomb ready to explode .
All premises should be allowed to open and close when they like.
A champion of the people emerges with the age-old and appealing promise of "something for nothing" - to be financed through every-increasing taxes. Supply and demand are thrown out of gear - the overhead goes up; the effective use of human energy goes down; the standard of living is lowered because money cannot buy wealth that is not produced.

In Brazil, asking somebody to leave a bar or niteclub is considered very rude, places close naturally about 4 or 5, not a mad rush like here.

Do as you are told, keep the head down, dont paint, dont express yourself, do as FF tell ya.
