    Bernard Manning on Mrs. Merton

Around the time Bernard Manning died, there was a lot of debate (on this site and elsewhere) about whether he was a racist, and more generally about his character.

Mrs. Merton's 1998 interview with him is quite revealing, though, and certainly confirms my opinion of him as a bigoted, conceited ******************************, which the world is better without.

Anyway, have a look for yourselves:

This is true but if a trendy modern comedian comes out with that stuff like Gervais or that unfunny langer Tiernan, they are considered provocative and "edgy".

Yer, the guy was so racist he went to India and raised money to orgs which help street children, it was on c4. Which is more then you have ever done.

He was a straight talker and brilliant comedian. His mother was irish.

There are skid marks before the deer.

Is there a difference between "taking over" and "living on"?
Nothing will motivate the lazy / apathetic / Americanised / west-British types to embrace their culture and the Irish language.
