Now:the RCP.I encountered this mob in 1982 when the UK Troops Out Movement had organised a march to highlight the 10th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday.The Hunger Strike was a fresh and painful memory and feelings were running rather high.The IRA had restarted it's GB bombing campaign.The march was planned for Sheffield(I think) but was switched to Birmingham -of all places-at the very last moment.A female RCP member had gone on local radio saying lots more bombs were needed.In fact you couldn't support A United Ireland and criticise the bombing of civilian targets in England!The Police in Sheffield could not guarantee our safety etc.Needless to say the march was small,ill organised and was attacked by skinheads.Fran Eden and Frank Furedi were leading lights back then.Living Marxism was very well produced and must have cost a fortune.Furedi is now a rabid rightwing free marketeer so go figure but I never trusted them after Brum 1982.
