how about 9th, at best?
how about 9th, at best?
We are 7th in the world. A good out-turn, considering our rather lacklustre performance this September.
Private profit for public gain!
holding on 7th, given the remaining teams in the RWC (all semi finalists 'etc) are ahead of us i don't think we'll have a change or at most a minimal one:-

Enda Kenny on FF government: “We’re in this mess, not because Fianna Fáil policies have failed, but because they have succeeded.”
Won't change because the ranking formula is based on the number of points between the two teams who are playing against each other. You can't lose points if you're not playing.
I'd say we deserve to be 7th.
New Zealand,Australia,Argentina,South Africa,France and England are all better than us but i think we have the beating of everyone else.
I'm not happy with us being only 7th but we have to be realistic.
I'd say Fiji could beat us.Originally Posted by Ambrose

What about the scots who put up a decent performacne against the Argies, and qualified from a reasonably tough pool.
Me thinks
England
South Africa
AAgentina
France
New Zealnad
Australia
Fiji
Scotland all have the beating of us.
Furthermore, I would be nervous that the likes of the Italians would aslo have gone full circle and are capable of beating us again.
Wales are at the same juncture, but showed certain pluses at the Championships.
It was just ourselves USA, Namibia and Romania who didnt have any pluses.
Georgia ; 1st Win, took Ireland the Distance
Portugal : With the exception of NZ N major whitewashes for the ameturs
Japan/Canada : One point and some good performances against other Northern Hemispere teams
Tonga : Some excellent performances and 2 wins
If it wasn't for some really astonishing last minute defending at one point (preventing a "try" from being grounded), Georgia had the beating of us - and this Irish team was supposed to be the best in a long time. 7th is flattering...Originally Posted by Ambrose
For the record, we were fourth in April.
