Think of the tax breaks for the horse breeding and horse racing industry. Huge tax breaks have led to a world class industry with Irish equine success in all international races, both on the flat and over the fences.
Imagine if this sort of investment had gone in to other sports?

There is a levy on bookmakers that goes directly to the horse industry. Only problem is 60% of Irish betting is on football.
