Since the only thread on the Olympics so far is a rather negative one focusing on Britain's alleged obsession with the military, I thought I'd create this one for positive and/or interesting comments on the events.
At Stratford there are more and more people from overseas wandering around wearing the big A5 IDs. The opening hours have extended to 22:00 (from Saturday to 23:00 or midnight) and everyone seems to be aware of this. The place is crowded and happy, except for a couple of blokes in dark suits and big IDs in front of me at a Lebanese restaurant who were picky and rather arrogant, not caring about insulting the staff or keeping everyone else on the queue waiting. A young lad had problems working out the difference between a £50 note and a £10, but the cashier let him know.
An extraordinary number of dark, willowy women looking beautiful in maxi dresses. They are all locals.
And Astral, if you do get to Westfield Stratford City with your better half, there is a T-shirt for her to buy for you. It has a tag on the front which says:
To: Women
From: God
I guess that's where all men come from
