These kind of music events always attract large numbers of underclass badness.

I remember getting the No. 16 bus (to get to an indoor soccer match) on the evening of that Faithless concert in Marlay Park and the upper saloon was packed with smelly, singin' skangers and scummers.

Presumably the death was drugs related, which is tragic but unfortunately not unprecedented. The stabbing incidents are much more frightening, IMO. I mean, who the hell brings a knife to a gig and then attacks people?



It's not clear if there is only one suspect, although that appears to be the implication.

Thats rough. I own a few different knives of different lengths and purpose, but the thought would never enter my head to do something like that.

I'm shocked by this I have to say. I think the death is drug related though.

I was at the Stone Roses gig on Thursday night, security seemed pretty tight, everybody got searched going in, bags, patted down etc etc.

Apart from the mud the whole thing seemed well organised. Saying that, a lot of the crowd by virtue of the act were most likely late 30's early 40s. Plenty of high spirits but a very congenial atmosphere. Maybe the age difference had something to do with it?

There were no police outside the Phoenix park at the main entrance to the park for this gig.
