I'm not sure what the point of the original post was; but I'm listening to the Planxty version now, it's one of my favourite songs, no.2 in the iTunes 'most listened'...

I used to go to Scarriff to see Planxty play in the mid 1970's. They were one of the best assemblies of Irish musical talent on one stage.
theres loads of planxty stuff on that Youtube site
Paul Brady does a very good version of arthur McBride as well
