    He has not made any suggestion he disagrees with his parents on religion.

    What he has made clear is his utter indifferance to the fact that his parents enjoyed themselves at a specific event, so much so that they wanted to share that enjoyment with him.

    When they attempted to do so they were clearly frozen out.
