For most Cork people it is far more important that the hurlers beat Dublin.

Trad, you're totally right about that. I remember reading a report of the Cork county board meeting after Cork footballers lost to Limerick and they had a 20 minutes discussion about that loss and then spent 2 and a half hours talking about the hurlers training routines.

The subject is about the Munster Football Final ..... not about the Cork hurlers

I'll watch the game, only because Cork are playing. To be honest most people bar those from the west of the county, could'nt care less about football or Bogball as it is known as down here.

I'm still fascinated how Hurling is so popular in Cork...but in neighbouring Kerry...football is huge. And Kerry squads haven't done anything noteworthy in Hurling in over a century.

I see from your profile that you are either from or live on the west coast of Canada ....... is it true that Hurling was once played in Newfoundland ???

I support both codes - i can't make it to Dublin today but I will be in Killarney tomorrow. Ther is a huge chunk of traditional hurling support in Cork up to the highest level that are of the "football is a sport for bad hurlers" school of thought. These people have no interest what so ever in our footballers and how they get on.

er...Sorry but do you have a clue what you're talking about?

Cork is a football county. Sure the hurling minority is very strong, but a munster football final with kerry generates huge interest among Cork people. I really hate hurling snobs. I come from a duel club and so i equally like both codes.
