The government, and particulary Minister for Justice Alan Shatter, deserve our gratititude for taking on board the backlog of cases for the granting of citizenship and tapping into the huge potential of the new Irish. And the citizenship ceremonies - almost 30 of them held so far - are stirring stuff with nothing spared on pomp and ceremony and rightly so. Well done to one and all and a chead mile failte to our new compatriots.
