Dublin - more sinned against than sinning?

In my time on P.ie Dublin comes in for a fair bit of stick. Apart from the direct threads which suggest Dublin is a cesspit within various threads there are attacks on Dublin - D4 types, a Dublin centric media and even that all Dubliners are West Brits (including Northsiders!). In the media we have the argument about the sceptic tanks being an attack on rural life presumably by us city folk.

The question is, is any of this deserved or is it just a classic go at a capital city?

I'm a Dubliner (Southsider) born and bred so it's hard to see it. I like the place and can't imagine living anywhere else

What is it about Dublin that annoys the rest of the country so much and is it valid?

Who cares what others think...we have Sam and we're not giving him back without one hell of a fight (and Dubliners pay most on average in taxes and receives the least in social transfers).

Talking about a Dublin centric media is not attacking Dublin, it's attacking the media.

I'm a Dub who lives in rural munster. I love it and don't find people anti-Dublin at all.

You do get the odd comment that the city has/gets everything but there is some truth in that.

More taxed than tax-spending, would be how I would describe Dublin.

Ah, that's easy. Money and cosmopolitan culture. Those who have neither resent those who have each.

I'm sure its nice to live in, but I don't like the architecture, all grey block and you should get the drunks and beggers off the trams. however we enjoyed the Zoo which was nice.
