Report from today's Irish Examiner says that upto 10,000 people attended Day 1 of National Coursing Meeting at Clonmel.
It is a three day meet and seems to be very popular with local and international visitors and a big contingent from Northern Ireland. It is apparently also bringing a lot of business to the town and surrounds, which no doubt is very much welcomed by the local community. It also points to the resilience of rural Ireland and strength of the coursing tradition.

From the report, it seems that the anti-coursing lobby had only a token protest with few protestors there.
Now there is muzzling of the dogs, is their presence less than necessary given that there are more important economic worries affecting people? It would seem so judging by the small numbers protesting.
