Aye, nobody's ever been persecuted or killed in the name of Christianity
If Marx "can be held accountable" for what people did with his ideology then Jesus, Paul and the Popes can be held accountable for what people did with theirs.

Oh dear the anti church brigade still post furiously about all the flaws of catholicism. I nearly feel sorry for those among this section of p.ie who identify so totally with the abused that they too wish they had been abused so that they could worship even more credibly at the alter of victimhood.

Ceasing membership of the Catholic Church

20/07/2011 - Church Continues to Block Formal Cessation of Membership

The Catholic Church continues to block efforts by those who wish to formally renounce their membership of the faith. The Countmeout.ie organisation recently assisted 16 people in their effort to have an "Act of Apostasy" recognised as a formal declaration of their wish to leave the church. However, the Archdiocese of Dublin has decided it cannot accept these declarations meaning those who wish to leave the church continue to be denied this option.

Your soul is theirs forever - even though to didn't make the choice to sign it over them; when you were a baby. They'll keep your name on a list though in case they ever get around to the reality that lots of people think the organisation stinks and/or never believed in their bullsh!t anyway and just want to leave.

The Church is not a bridge club.

    No-one is a "member".

If you have been baptised and confirmed, you are the Church.

So if you are a baptised and confirmed axe wielding homicidal child torturing rapist then does that make you the Church too?

I am the church? Can I have some of that wine then? And a few pews, and some of that money they (we) got for the roof?
