What's going on here? Do we secretly hanker after British monarchs and right-wing leaders? Or is it a case of know thine enemy?

Maybe we just like superb acting, both Streep and Firth definately tick that box.

The greatest politician of the last couple of generations, why would we not be interested? It filled my heart with gladness seeing the Dublin Bus fleet bedewcked in giant sized images of Thatcher (albeit being channelled by Streep).

Yeah, I heard that too. I'm not particularly interested in seeing it, I'll watch it on DVD (unless Netflix brings about the demise of Xtravision within the next 6 months). I'm more interested in seeing The Artist
