    Vegan Ireland's Vegan Guide.

Vegan Ireland has compiled a Vegan Guide to help you make the transition from an animal-based diet to a vegan one.

The Vegan Guide will also help you to know which personal care products are suitable for vegans, where to buy shoes and other accessories and why vegans oppose circuses using nonhuman animals, zoos, animal testing, etc.

It is surprisingly easy to become and remain a healthy vegan, although as with anything new, a little bit of preparation is needed at the beginning to make sure that the transition goes smoothly and without difficulty.

Vegan Ireland: Vegan Guide: An intro.

    Vegan Ireland: Replacing Dairy products

Vegan Ireland: Replacing Eggs based products

    Vegan Ireland: high protein foods

    Vegan Ireland: Discovering new products.

Vegan Ireland: More than a diet.

Vegetarians I get. Vegans on the other hand are plain weird.

It is the other way around for my. Vegetarianism is a half-way house, veganism is a way of discharging our moral obligations to other animals.

It is an attempt to live while not being violent to others.

    How is eating eggs "violent"?

In commercial egg production, the male chicks are separated out when hatched and killed. The "meat strains" are different birds engineered to grow fast.

What about free range eggs? I don't eat battery produced eggs.

First, the term "free-range" means different things in different places - and there are a number of use systems that are nothing like what we imagine in our minds as free-range and yet they can be called free-range.

So, it would be a case of looking at individuals "free-range" farms - the label might not mean too much. Egg producers in Ireland are moving towards intensification like everywhere else.

Then there is the question that the birds are still killed if they do not produce - or are "spent."

You would need to know what each farm did with male birds.

From a philosophical animal rights position, free-range, of course, is still a rights violation.

I would just like to know how rounded a person you are, if you have no children then you look on everything with a far different perspective than I.
If you have children and you force them to live on a vegetarian or vegan diet, then to me this is a form of child abuse.
