Is this thread set to become the vegan equivalent of the climate change one?

Does that depend on what you mean? What do you mean?

Ros you now have me confused. Are you advocating veganism on grounds of human health ,or animal rights ??

Fair question. I advocate it on the grounds of animal rights but, as you are probably aware, people make all sorts of accusations about the health of vegans. A recent contributor suggested that vegans suffer from malnutrition, for example.

There are a lot of myths and stereotypes about - so, it was in that light that I posted the video.

Will it ever sink in ROS 'ANIMALS DO NOT HAVE RIGHTS OR NEVER WILL'. We as the dominant species have a duty towards the welfare of animals some of whom we breed to eat , others we keep as pets etc etc. You and your followers insistence that we should bestow rights upon them is off the wall. If my sheep dog had rights and if by accident I hit him with my car then logically he could sue me and rest assured there would be an animal rights lawyer to pursue this in court on his behalf. You would release all kinds on madness upon the world but maybe that is the aim IE anarchy .

This is life and we would be far worse off as a society without both of these sports. I also believe that when Ms Allen shot a few pheasants over the Xmas she had a bit of fun and fair play to her for not feeling that she had anything to hide. She holds a licence for her shotgun and is involved in a legal country pursuit. The big display of 'how you have offended us' and 'the poor birds that were shot' furore that came from the animals rights objectors is all stage managed in an attempt to bully people who do not go along with their viewpoint . Pragmatic Approach's post sums up what ROS and her pals are all about and of course the usual suspects will be on p.ie shortly to claim otherwise.
I asked whether you thought it should be legal to kill animals *just* for fun.

The point of horse-racing and greyhound racing is not to kill the animals. And I'm fairly certain pheasants who get shot are used for food afterwards (meaning their killing is probably more humane than simply buying a chicken in a supermarket).
Don't blame me; I voted for Kodos.

Why do you think that humans have rights but animals do not?

Funny ! Although I think probably more to do with the difference between growing up on a council estate in Scotland, or in an upper middle class Jewish household in London.
